As a mom of three boys, I get how meaningful but also how tricky it is to get photos of your own children. It’s incredible how quickly a picture becomes a distant memory as they swiftly move from one stage of life to the next. And getting pictures with your children without it being a selfie is near impossible.
I absolutely love working with families to capture these moments, whether you’re documenting the birth of a new child or just the annual tradition of getting photos taken. All types of sessions are important; they’re an investment but one that you will never regret making. As my children get older, I only regret the years I didn’t get family photos.
Being on the other side of the camera is always a little uncomfortable and stressful for me (I much prefer being behind it!) But each time I get my photos back I am so grateful I took the time out to document each stage of my family. And because I know having photos taken can be a wee bit stressful, I am here to make things go as smoothly as possible. I have an outfit guide to help you coordinate your family to look their best (and feel free to text me with any decisions you’re trying to make!) On-site I will pose you so you don’t have to stand there awkwardly, trying to conjure up your inner super-model. I will also go with the flow no matter how your kiddos are feeling to capture beautiful moments of your family in any given situation.

What is current session pricing?
Family in-home, newborn, and on-site sessions are $700 for immediate family sessions. Traditional family sessions are around 1 hour, while newborn sessions take around 1-2 hours, with the fresh bébé’s needs coming first. Current session pricing includes 30+ images in an online gallery, available for high-resolution download, and a print release.

So I end up with digital images?
Yes, you end up with digital images even though I’m shooting film. But I need you to pinky promise you’ll print your faves. For DIY types, I will create a gallery at one of my highly recommended consumer print shops from which you can order directly. If you’re not inclined to print your images, I can do that for you. Just order directly from your online gallery and I will have it printed at my favorite professional lab and delivered to you.
What time of day is best for our session?
Lighting is the most important factor for a beautiful picture. I LOVE the evening light, so I recommend our session starts about 2 hours before sunset. But if it’s cloudy, don’t worry! Cloudy photo shoots are some of my favorites because the clouds provide a natural diffuser, making the light soft and even.
Newborn and lifestyle sessions are different because they are indoors. I prefer to shoot those in the morning and use a strobe light when needed. So if you have a dark house, no worries! I have a portable window with my strobe (flash)!
When can I order?
Your online gallery will be ready within four weeks The gallery will be posted live for four weeks; at any time during those four weeks you can download your files and place an order for additional product and prints. If your gallery has expired and you want it reposted, a $40 fee is applied, which goes toward any product you order.
What location will we use for the session?
I am more than happy to give you ideas and work with you to pick a location that will give you the vibe you have in mind. Many locations around the Twin Cities require a permit; all permit fees are to be paid for by the client. Acquiring a permit may take a few weeks, so if your heart desires a particular location, be sure to let me know as early as possible. Note that locations 20 miles outside of Minneapolis may incur a travel fee. All parking or entrance fees to be paid by the client.
